Leatt
A rider, father and inventor, Dr. Chris Leatt was in the process of specializing in neurosurgery when he assisted in the treatment of a victim of a tragic motorcycle enduro accident. He had a young son that was beginning to ride dirt bikes in 2001 and started desiging the first of his neck brace prototypes. By 2004, he had sold his first neck brace in South Africa and in 2006, it was introduced at the International Motorcycle Conference in Cologne, Germany. Years later, he continues designing new neck brace systems for other sports, such as bicycles and other types of body armor that can be used for many different extreme sports.
