Sounds good
I just received this and installed a couple days ago. First off, it’s definitely not up to par with the things I’ve heard about akra exhausts. I don’t know if I just got a bad one or what, but my had fine scratches all over it, the decal won’t stay stuck to the exhaust on one of the corners, and I’d say about half of the little black painted screws or rivets we’re missing most of the paint on them. It’s almost like this was put on a bike for a while then returned. But I’m not sure. On the plus side, it sounds and looks much better than the stock muffler on my ninja 400 so I’ll deal with it. Overall it’s alright.

Akrapovic slip on
Bike is more flickable and easier to move without the extra heavy stock pipe. Sounds awesome especially when paired with the optional headers. Fitting and install is easy thanks to Van's video tutorials

Ninja 400 Akrapvoic Slip-On Review
I got an awesome deal on a new 2018 Ninja 400 a couple weeks ago. One of the very few things I disliked about the bike was the factory silencer. Not only cosmetically, but I found it to be too quiet, almost dangerously so. After researching the different makes and tones, I decided to opt for the carbon Akrapovic Slip-On. I have their exhaust on my m3 so I’ve witnessed the quality of their products and attention to detail first hand. Upon unpacking, you notice the weight immediately. The slip-on seems impossibly light after handling the factory silencer. The next thing you notice is the fitment and instructions, everything lines up perfectly and there are no hiccups. It can be installed in minutes. A small variety of tools and sizes are required, but this has the benefit of making theft more difficult. The carbon is beautiful and will look good on any Ninja color. The last, but best thing you notice, is the sound. I’d say the volume with the noise insert is about perfect. There is a nice rumble at idle and an addictive howl through the mid-range. Between the loss of weight and slight performance bump, the bike definitely seems more responsive. Also, your heel no longer presses on the previous silencer’s heat shield. No regrets with this system and I encourage anyone on the fence to go for it.
