    Alpinestars Fusion Leather Race Suit

Posted by Eric Cell on 24th Jun 2022

I recently purchased this suit and have used it for 2 days at the track. To say that this suit flows a ton of air is an understatement. Multiple times throughout the day I had to check to make sure I had remembered to zip my leathers up as I was riding onto the track because there was so much air coming in. At one point, while riding on track, I could actually feel my base layer "flapping in the breeze" underneath the leathers. Construction is great as can be expected with any Alpinestars product. The suit moves extremely well right off the rack and required little to no break in. I'm 5'10", 190 and am wearing a size 54 US suit. If you're looking for a suit that flows more air than anything else on the market this is it.

I recently purchased this suit and was interested in it mainly to see how much better it flowed air than a perforated leather suit. In a nutshell, this thing flows a ton of air compared to a normal perforated leather suit. At one point I could actually feel my base layer flapping the in the breeze under the suit. On multiple occasions when going onto the track I had to double check to make sure my leathers were zipped because it felt like there was just too much air coming in. I'm thoroughly impressed with the ventilation. Build quality is as you would expect with any Alpinestars product, and the fit is consistent with their sizing chart. I'm 5'10", 190 and am in a size 54 suit. It does feel roomier than my previous Spidi suit which was a size 56. I'm not currently using the TechAir airbag but plan on adding that next year.

Haven't had the suit at the track yet but so far it fits great and seems to breathe really well. Curious to see how the matryx material will hold up in a crash, but at first glance it seems pretty strong.
