Alpinestars Nucleon KR-HR Hip Protectors

The Alpinestars Nucleon KR-HR Hip Protectors can be installed in Alpinestars Race Suits to add CE Level Protection to the hip area. This is the "Race Model" which has added injected shells to increase protection on the hip bone. The base material they are constructed with softens as it warms increasing the comfort and allowing them to move with you rather than be rigid and uncomfortable. These can be installed in all of the current model suits that have either a foam hip protector attached with velcro to the liner or a velcro patch sewn to the shell of the suit in the hip area when you unzip the liner.

The hips are vulnerable in a crash for sure. Just look at how little soft tissue there is covering your hip bone and imagine that bod boy hitting the asphault! (Trust me it's no fun) There was a time that if you wanted CE hip protection you had to wear a pair of armored shorts under your suit. Wearing the shorts is effective for sure but it adds another layer, more bulk and heat as compared to attaching these protectors right to the suit without having that additional layer with the shorts. If your Alpinestars Race Suit has the ability to accept these I would suggest you do so. Once they warm up they become very flexible and pretty much disappear in the suit. - Brian Van
