About what I expected
I was given a pair of boots that the previous owner did not take notice that he needed new toe sliders before it was too late. the notch that secures the front of the left slider had been ground down to nothing. Luckily, the new ones attach with a set screw at the main block. I was able to get the new slider on. Keep an eye on your sliders folks! They can only do their job for so long. It's up to you to provide the rest.
