Nice gloves but crappy build quality and crappy customer service
I bought these gloves because they’re the only CE 2 gloves on the market. They feel really nice on and have great feel. But within 3 weeks of use (no crashes!) a seam tore open exposing the internal armor. I emailed Alpinestars customer service and was extremely disappointed. The only solution was to send them in for repair which takes 3 weeks, shipping Not paid for. I told them it’s the middle of race season and that would leave me gloveless. They told me I could fix them myself if I wanted. It’s a manufacturing defect, they should have offered an exchange for a new pair! Now I have to go buy another pair of gloves while I wait for those to be fixed - they sure as hell won’t be Alpinestars.

Splurged
Getting back into track riding, I wanted to have the best. Splurged a bit on these gloves but after attending a 2 day YRCS event, they are breaking in nicely. My old gloves were pretty bulky and did not give much feedback through the palms. These do have a lot of protection but right away I could feel the difference between these and my old gloves. These come at a premium price, but the details add up if within your budget.

supertech gloves
how the pros ride in these and have any kind of faith they'll hold up in a high speed crash is beyond me !!! I had a low speed low side on a Ninja 400 and they are junk now.....the kevlar on palms tore right off as well as outside fingers...do yourself a favor buy 2 pairs of a decent pair/brand so you don't waste money on a $400 pair !

Top of the line, meh.
These are just okay for me. Been hurting my hands breaking them in, seams have stitching on inside, leather is not very supple at this price point. Made in China. Velcro wrist strap constantly interferes with gauntlet Velcro, due to design. Been buying and auditioning the best of most brands at great expensive looking for a new longterm favorite, the Supertech are my last to try and my least favorite. Spidi the best, RST are great, Dainese's Metal 6 second from worse - which are Made in Vietnam. I wanted to like the top of the line from Alpinestars and Dainese, but it seems they have slowly migrated to counting on their celebrity, over quality and function. I'm not angry at anyone, to be clear.

Alpinestars Supertech Gloves
As always, I can count on the team at STG to give advise before purchase. This was the case with these gloves. There knowledge of size and fit, determined which item to purchase. I depend on Van's staff and team's advise for any and all parts and apparel.
