Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 Airbag System

Fits snug. Bought XL, I'm 220 & 6-2. Wish there was a small wireless remote monitor, but you can use phone app. Hope I never test it.

I’m seriously impressed. Set up was fairly simple, but I do recommend charging the jacket and closing the zipper and upper Velcro tab before trying to pair with your phone. The adapter plug has a magnetic connector once you plug in the wire. It then breaks off via magnet making charging a breeze. So far the battery is at 40% after five 2 plus hour rides. The phone shows me that the jacket is turned on so that gives me confidence. Don’t confuse connect with “turned on.” I understand that you don’t need the phone for the jacket to work, but I can’t tell if the jacket is on without the phone. I always bring my phone for confirmation. The jacket does stay on even when there’s no cell service. Since the jacket connects to your phone via Bluetooth, service is not required. Overall, this is a great product taking safety to a new level. It’s no wonder the guys at Moto GP can walk away from a 150 plus mile crash.

I have not had a chance for it to deply yet, thank God, but it fits well under my Bison track suit and is easy to use. The active/inactive lights are on the vest itself so no need to run wires into your suit. Just zip it up and it's armed, ready to go. The only drawback, that I found, is that the bluetooth signal from the suit is very faint so you need to get the phone very close to the suit for the app on your phone to acknowledge activity. I've have no comfort issues at all. I'm 5'11, 192-195, athletic build, and a large fit perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend this.

I would give it 5 star, but I’m only trusting that it will work when I need it. Let’s hope I never can give it 5 stars. Fit is good (used charts 58 jacket/XXL). Once you start riding you forget it is there. Warmer weather might make it interesting. I went up to a 58 (56 would fit but not with the TechAir). Things are pretty snug, but I believe I have space for inflation

Alpinestars Tech-Air5 Fits great!!!! I would highly recommend for the price and easy of use. The fit Id say is pretty standard, NOT Small Or Slim VERY standard fit. I went off the chart recommendation and fits perfectly. A+++ ++ Hopefully I wont need it but I know with a name like Alpinestars I feel comfortable being protected with quality equipment.

Apparently the one I received had been shipped and registered to another user, then returned. This means it can not be registered or used until Alpinestars resets it on their end. I contacted Alpinestars customer service and was quite underwhelmed by their service. In the end it took them over a week to reset it and I decided to return the airbag anyways. To be fair STG's customer service was very responsive but their hands were tied in this situation.

I had called to speak to stg rep about the correct size to order. I was told XL which on the website is the correct size for the size jacket I wear. Trouble is the vests air bag digs into my underarms which is very painful and distracting. Either this is a defective jacket, the wrong size or these vests fit me horribly. I would love to be able to wear this vest but I would never be able to with the vest I was sent. 3 stars for fit.
