Dunlop has just released the All New Dunlop Sportmax Q3+ Tires. This tire builds on all the success of it's predessor the now famous Q3 Sportmax Tires. With this new generation Dunlop promises more grip (yes more grip than the current Q3 which is amazing), improved feel and stability with added longevity on the street or race track. Once we have the opportunity to test this tire ourselves we will add to this listing. Based on experience with the previous Sportmax Tire's in the Dunlop line our expectations are this tire will perform as advertised.

  • The Dunlop Q3 Plus Tire is the only hypersport tire made in the U.S.A., the Q3+ was designed at Dunlop's Buffalo, NY headquarters, and manufactured in the Buffalo plant on the same high-tech production equipment as Dunlop's racing tires.
  • Dunlop's Huntsville Proving Grounds is the only motorcycle tire test facility of its kind in North America, and the Q3+ was tested extensively at Dunlop's Huntsville Proving Grounds as well as several racetracks in the U.S.
  • Dunlop's Carbon Fiber Technology (CFT) employed in the Q3+ uses carbon fiber reinforcement in the tire sidewalls for exceptional cornering performance and feel.
  • Aggressive Q3+ tread pattern uses minimal tread grooves that are long in length to enhance wet-weather performance.
  • Intuitive Response Profile (IRP) technology in the Q3+ rear tire allows greater latitude in line choice while cornering, plus amazingly linear steering.
  • MT Multi-Tread technology in the Q3+ rear tire uses a silica-infused, long-wearing compound in the center of the tread for longer tread life, and special lateral grip compounds on the left and ride shoulders for outstanding grip.
  • The all-new Q3+ offers superb grip, stability, steering feel and longevity on the street and on the track.

    Dunlop Q series tires.

Too those of you who complain about tire life and mfg date. If your tires last that long, be happy. I'm thrilled to get get over 400 miles out of a set. I ride track only on my Ducati 959 Panigale Corse. I love the Dulops as they wear because as they wear they remain predictictable even when hot I'm a big guy and the Pirelli Super Corsa II-III only last me about 250 miles under the same conditions.

    Tire life

LOL on the last postings. My tires last me way less then any posted life of said tire no matter what I use, especially Dunlop Q series tires. They are grippy and hat is the only thing I worry about, along with my suspension being set right.

If you are worried about only having 3 years to go through a sportbikes front tire maybe riding sportbikes isn't for you.

    Tire Manufacturing Date

Posted by Unknown on 28th Aug 2019

First, let me say that I have been a customer with STG for many years and I have not had any problems with their service until I bought a brand new tire set of Dunlop Sportmax Q3+. When I received the tires on 27 Aug 2019, the rear tire had a Tire Manufacturing Date of (5218) which is late December 2018. A tire that is sold within one year of the Tire Manufacturing Date would seem reasonable to me. However, the front Tire Manufacturing Date was early 2017! This tire is over 2 ½ years old. I have researched the internet and YouTube videos and they say that tires have a shelf life of 5 years, even if the tread is brand new. The shelf life on the front tire is already half over! Now, since I am buying a brand new set of tires, I would expect the Tire Manufacturing Dates to be close, within 6 months of each other, not over 2 years. STG needs to have better Quality Control in selling their Tire Sets. A huge difference in the Tire Manufacturing Date being sold to customers is unacceptable! The representative told me that they have no control of what the manufacture sends them. Even if that is true, STG can still verify the Tire Manufacturing Dates themselves before mailing the tire set to their customers. I know STG has an easy and no hassle return policy, but the inconvenience that a customer has to go through because of the lack of Quality Control on their tires must be improved. The STG representative I spoke to was very understanding, heard of this before and told me I could send the tire back and order a new front tire, but he could not guarantee the next Tire’s Manufacturing’s Date would be close to match the rear tire. In the end, I just decided to keep the Tire Set because I don’t want to go through the hassle of sending it back, but I will never buy another set of tires from STG again until they can guarantee that the Tire Manufacturing Dates will be within 6 months of each other!
