The GB Racing Yamaha FZ-09 Secondary Engine Cover Set looks great and the price is right. Installation is straight forward on most applications and can be done with standard hand tools. With a naked bike like the FZ-09 protecting the engine case covers is critical as there is no bodywork to keep them safe in a fall.
GB Racing Secondary Engine Covers are manufactured from our High Impact, Reduced wear, Injection Moulded 60% LONG GLASS fibre nylon 6.6 Engineering materials. Extensive research, testing and development has allowed us to create a unique High Quality product range.
This process offers greater design flexibility, allowing greatly reduced costs, compared to similar Carbon fibre / Kevlar & Billet Aluminum covers. All our products bolt directly over the existing stock covers, simplifying assembly, negating the need for awkward and difficult to remove adhesives. As an injection moulded process we are able to design optimum aesthetics, enhancing the overall look of the engine covers and the bike./p>

Review on GB covers
Great look, nice fit and finish. Easy to install with good instructions. Use them to cover some scratches on the stator case from previous drop. As yet, have not had the opportunity to perform another “drop test”. Would use them again.

Can perfect covers improve a perfect bike?
The FZ-09 is a fun bike, but like all naked machines, the cases are out there protruding enough that in the event of a mishap they are going to hit the ground. No matter how great your frame sliders are, on this bike the covers need protection. These GB Racing covers are a perfect fit. Simple to install (don't be put off about the coolant, if the bike is straight up and down on a rear stand you will get maybe a few drops only). Make sure you look at the bolt sizes on the instructions. A couple of the OEM bolts that have different lengths are replaced by bolts in the kit with the same length - the instructions are clear, follow them to the letter. These look great, don't add much weight and will save your engine if your bike falls or you crash. No one wants to crash, but leaving those cases unprotected is not smart.
