    Race bodywork

Bodywork comes as described and faster than advertised! Easy to install and take off. Wish the bodywork came pre-drilled but made it work. The videos provided for install were also SUPER helpful.

Works if you are in need of cheaper bodywork

Posted by Michael Wertz on 13th Jan 2023

I put these on my 2015 R1, and as others point out, they leave a bit to be desired. The finish isn't great, it takes a good amount of time to drill all the holes, and if you are looking for perfection, I hope you know how to apply fiberglass. The tail would not fit and broke while putting it on. The customer support did SH*$ all to help me out here. For the money, when they are on sale, I can see the alure, after all, that is when I bought them. I have since purchased a 2021 R1 and am outfitting it for next season and I will say, if you have the extra money, buy the Armour Bodies. Fit and finish, flexibility, and predrilled holes make it a no brainer. When I talked to the guy painting the plastics, he just laughed at me and said "well, you learned the hard way."

    Hotbodies R1

These are price about right at $379 now. I bought these in 2016 when building my R1 racebike. At the time Armorbodies (used on my 11 S1000RR) were on a 3+ week backorder, sharskinz were similar wait time so reluctantly I bought these. Having owned hotbodies products before I wasn't expecting a high quality product but these are s#&t. Brian explains in the video as politely as possible that there is some finishing to be desired. I spent less time re glassing, priming and painting fairings after a high side than prepping these new fairings for paint. If using a quality urethane base coat/ clear coat system go ahead and add the primer for your paint system of choice, I wish I had. The Armorbodies primer is a quality urethane that accepts most any paint well with a little scuffing and solvent wash. Dimensionally, no panel was symmetric with the opposite side, the tail cracked after 2 days on track. I replaced it with another brand not sold here becasue the Armorbodies tail was not available so I wont mention name but it is still on there 4 years later in great condition with perfect paint adhesion despite being hit with boots, used as a paddock leaning post & pushed on while loading. That was my experience with this bodywork

Minor trimming was needed. The priming job leaves to be desired as there was quite a few blotches. The fiberglass work is quite good and robust while still be flexible. Mounts are all reinforced. For the money, it’s a good kit.
