Joe Rocket Atomic 5.0 Jacket

I have had my mesh Ion for 4 years now. I was looking for a Textile and so I got the 5.0. I have to say that for the mighty dollar, this jacket is wonderful. I went out at 36F doing 75MPH, having a thin thermal and a button shirt on with no JR Liner and I was very comfortable. Guys complain about the zippers and fabric......I never had one issue with the Ion. I do recommend to order a spine protector from Alpine or anyone else who makes them well. The foam one is crap. I am 6'4", 205 lbs, 44 chest, 42 waist. XL is snug with the liner and perfect without. I am between XL and 2X. I took the XL cause I don't want to have it too loose on me in the event I have only a lite shirt on. If you do not want to kill your bank account, this is the one.

Jacket sizing is spot on, I’m 5’10” , 215 lbs and an XL fits perfectly. Comfortable neck, flows a ton of air for hot summer days while moving. No binding or stiffness in movement around arms or shoulders. Ample pockets and waterproofing is spot on. Overall very pleased with this jacket.

The quality that you expect from Joe Rocket is everywhere in this jacket. It fits well and all materials feel like they are of the highest quality. The features incorporated are well thought out. The only gripe I have with this jacket is that while the pockets it has are large, I had gotten spoiled by the interior pockets of the Cortech jacket that this replaces. They weren't large, but I could carry my cellphone and reading glasses easily on my person. I guess we will see what adaptations can be made.

Disappointed, and will be returning. Bought to replace old Joe Rocket atomic. Most features are good but I found the fit to be different than the older model (too short and tight at the collar). Also the zippers are smaller and feel cheaper overall to me. I don't care for the zipper Sleeves they are tight on me and I preferred the old Velcro adjustable cuffs. Wanted this to fit right but for me it just doesn't work.

Could not ask for a better fit. Quality of material and workmanship on jacket is excellent. Could not be more pleased by the fast service and experience.

I waited forever to replace my leather, because it fit perfectly, and was (I thought), everything I wanted. This jacket is better in every way, warmer in the cold, cooler in the hot, more comfortable, dryer, lighter.
