How To Use The Motion Pro PBR Chain Tool And Product Review ht...
This is the same chain and sprocket kit used on the M4 ECSTAR Suzuki GSXR 1000 ridden by Jake Lewis in MotoAmerica. All of the parts in this kit are used on the Team Bike with Real Race Proven Results and Performance. In racing drive-train components are subjected to the most extreme conditions and failure is not an option. Vortex Steel 520 front sprockets and F5 Hardcoat Aluminum rear sprockets are proven performers, making them a simple choice. Team M4 ECSTAR Suzuki tested multiple chains on the latest GSXR 1000 in search of low friction, light weight, low stretch and reliable performance. Of the chains they tested the EK 3D GP 520 Chain delivered the best results and the best option for this kit.
We recommend this kit for racing, track day riders as well as street riders looking to reduce the weight and increase the performance of thier GSXR 1000. On the M4 ECSTAR STG Suzuki GSXR 1000R Project Bike we are running the most used gearing combination on Jake Lewis's GSXR 1000 which is a 16 tooth front (one tooth down from stock), 41 tooth rear (4 teeth down from stock) and 118 links in the EK 3D Chain (2 links longer than stock). Using the 16 front / 41 tooth rear and 118 links the final ratio is a little taller than stock and weighs 2.15 lbs less than the stock 525 kit does. The wheel base is longer than stock which will have a positive impact on stability and handling. At 118 links of length with a 16 tooth front sprocket you can run a 41, 42 or 43 tooth rear sprocket without making a change to chain length if you need to fine tune the gearing for a particular track.
