FITMENT NOTE: This system will fit the Yamaha FJ-09 ONLY IF THE CENTER STAND IS REMOVED.

The M4 Yamaha FZ-09 Carbon Fiber Slip On Exhaust is our Number 1 selling exhaust system for the Yamaha Street Fighter. Installing this slip-on requires cutting of the stock exhaust system, no worries we have a full install video showing Brian Van installing this on the STG FZ-09 Project Bike so you can see exactly what it takes to get this done. It removes the stock catalytic converter and reduces the weight of the Yamaha by 10lbs and will also see an increase in performance of 5 horsepower over stock. This system looks great, sounds even better and the price is right!

Available dB reducing muffler inserts: Stage 1 part # Q5 (Installed), Stage 2 part # Q4 (sold separately please contact us to purchase).

This mounting style mounts much like our "GP" system. Much lower and forward than stock, near the right rider foot peg. Enjoy the same style benefits as our "GP" mount with a slightly lower dB level.

M4 Exhaust - Additional Information:

Full Systems - For the ultimate in performance, complete tuned stainless steel systems include all mounting hardware. Optional mounting styles and materials available for select systems.

Bolt On/Slip Ons - These systems utilize the stock header assembly. Bolt on and slip ons replace the stock restricted muffler resulting in better sound and an increase in power.

Headpipe/Collector Assembly - Full systems include tapered and equal length headpipes with true high-flow merge collectors.

Silencer - M4 silencers look as good as they perform. Polished steel, titanium, black satin and carbon fiber silencers are offered to suit your style.

Midpipe - Careful design of the midpipe is necessary to give exhaust gasses optimum flow and improved power characteristics.

Exactly what I was looking for.

Posted by Charles Akers on 6th Oct 2023

The install was actually easier than I expected. I did buy an angle grinder and some cutting blades, so the pipe cutting was super easy. I didn't consider that I had to remove the center stand, but it was good time to service it anyway. I did have to modify the center stand so that it wouldn't contact and scratch the muffler. I ordered the Q6 Stage 2 Db reducer to try to keep it quiet, but the DB reducer that the M4 came with actually quiets the exhaust better, so it was $54 that I didn't need to spend. I commute on the freeway and I can only slightly hear the exhaust note while cruising at freeway speed, but can hear when I twists the throttle. My biggest problem with the OEM muffler was that it was just ugly. The M4 and mid pipe are perfect and the sound of my triple is amazing.
