Yet another sport touring radial tire breakthrough from Michelin: With MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tires on your motorcycle, you'll ride with more confidence - rain or shine, hot or cold, city or highway.

Available in 3 versions:

Version breakown:

  • Standard: The industry standard for all-around sport touring use.
  • GT: Patented new technology provides stability for GT-Class bikes while riding solo, 2-up, or with luggage.
  • Trail: The sport touring tire for trail bikes ridden exclusively on roads.

Stops faster:

Thanks to new XST+ sipes, MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tires stop faster in the wet than any other tyres in the category. The MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tire stops 17% faster than its closest competitor on wet roads, and 24% faster on a wet slippery surface such as a pedestrian crossing or painted lines. All of which means, riding in the rain should feel safer and more secure, and a lot less stressful.

Lasts longer:

Thanks to improved 2CT technology, new MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tires last up to 20% longer than the MICHELIN Pilot Road 3 tires. Over the long run, that adds up to fewer tire changes and a lower total cost of ownership.

Grips the road in virtually all conditions:

All-new silica-charged rubber compounds were developed for the MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tires. These compounds are specially formulated to provide excellent grip on a wide range of road surfaces, including painted lines and pedestrian crossings, making it easier for you to ride with confidence in virtually all conditions.

MICHELIN 2AT provides extra stability for heavier loads:

Whether you are riding your GT-class bike solo, 2-up or with luggage, you'll appreciate the added stability provided by MICHELIN's new 2AT technology. With MICHELIN 2AT technology, your heavy touring bike will feel stable and secure in both straight line and cornering situations.

Great tire and even better service

Posted by John F on 29th Jun 2022

This was a last minute tire buy to save a trip. Two nails in the old one and no inventory locally lead me to STG. I called and the rep assured me that the tire would ship from a location and arrive the same week. Ordered on Monday - received on Wednesday. Mounted on Thusday. By Monday, I had 1000 miles on it. Thanks!

Great tire and value for money.

I run these tires on a large sport tourer and get around 9K miles of tread life out of them. Which is excellent for any tire but on a large sport tourer I can’t complain. I ran a pair of Road 5’s with similar thread life. I didn’t notice any difference in handling with my riding style and it didn’t make sense to spend the extra cash for the 5’s over the 4’s. I have ridden both tires in heavy rain for hundreds of miles as well and they handle equally well.

Great handling tire. Center is way too soft and should be replaced with harder compound.

Best Sport Touring Tire on the Market

Posted by Cliff Smith on 28th Nov 2016

This is the 2nd Michelin Pilot Road 4 rear tire I've installed on my 2006 Honda ST 1300. I picked up a nail in the first one and had to replace it after approximately 6,000 miles. The tire still had at least another 6,000 miles left on the tread. These tires handle extremely well in rain and dry conditions and wear like iron. Highly recommend the product and Sportbike Track Gear.

    Plush Riding Sport Touring Tire

I installed a pair of these on a HONDA ST1300. I prefer the ride quality and handling to the Factory installed Bridestones BT020. They cost a little more but I doubt I'll ever consider any other tire for this bike after buying these. They work really well on a bike of this size.

    Great on the Dragon

Posted by Unknown on 28th Jun 2016

I bought this tire just before my trip down to the Dragon. 2800 miles, 3 round trips on the dragon and sill is great. No issues in the rain even at 65 mph in a heavy down pour. I have all the confidence I need in this tire

The Pilot Road series of tires just gets better with each improvement - long mileage (keep the correct pressure in them!) and knee dragging grip.

    What a terrible tire

Posted by Josh on 1st Dec 2015

This is probably the worst tire i have ever ridden on especially for the price. I liked my road 2s before and got 10k out of a rear, but these were gone in 3k in the center running factory pressures -2 and doing mostly canyon riding. At first they seemed ok, good in colder conditions maybe a bit squirmy but then all of a sudden they were gone, skip these and buy something else.
