The Michelin Power GP Tire is being marketed as a 50 / 50 track day tire. In our opinion this is more of a full track day tire than it is a street tire. Once we have the opportunity to ride on this tire we will share our thoughts. Michelin uses proprietary formulation and strategic placement of 2CT and 2CT+ "Carbon Black" compounds to maximize performance. The surface area of slick zones is increased and the size of water voids is reduced for class-leading dry grip and communication on the track. Warm-up times are short, and the Power GPs are ready for the lap timer to start. With DOT approval, the Power GPs are equally adept at dominating the street. Michelin's patented "velvet" sidewall design adds some extra GP-level style to match the GP-level performance.

Michelin Power GP (set)
These tires are very confident inspiring. After Michelin stopped making the Power RS (another great tire), I needed to find something else. The Power GP fit the bill. I only use my bike for the track with some sprint races sprinkled in between. These tires are good for trackday beginners and intermediate level track riders for sure. A+

Power GP
First off, the picture for this tire is wrong. It looks exactly like a Power RS front. I'm fact, I'm 90% percent sure they just used the Power RS molds but with different compounds. The tires handle just like set of Power RS but they feel a lot softer. Grip is phenomenal and thanks STG for the heads up about this not being a true 50/50 ttack/street tire because it does feel overkill for the street, even super aggressive street riding. I got 4000 miles from a Power RS rear so we'll just have to see how long these last. I'm happy with these tires but they are a soft compound so don't expect high mileage.
