It's okay if you just need to eyeball alignment before doing fine adjustments, but at the end of the day, nothing beats just measuring each side of your axle blocks. I found I reverted back doing this, versus rely on eyeballing . I can't say it's something I need, it's quicker to just measure each side quickly with a digital measuring caliper.

This tool is very easy to use, there are videos on youtube that explain it but it is very simple and accurate.

This tool is awesome. Makes it super easy to tell if the chain is misaligned. First time doing a chain slack adjustment and was worried about misalignment. Stg's youtube videos and this tool really helped me out.

I'm used to simply eyeballing my rear wheel alignment carefully and spinning the wheel a few times prior to tightening everything up, however attaching this tool to the chain definetely makes alignment easier and is worth the time to use as it gives you a much longer sight line.
