Buy the Motion Pro PBR instead/ order extra pins

Posted by KB on 5th Sep 2019

I would recommend getting the Motion Pro PBR tool instead. A few design flaws in my opinion: - Pins break very easily. I understand the small shaft is needed, but there should be a radius between the diameter step to alleviate the stress concentrator. Order extra pins. 'Broke mine on the 4th link I broke. (I grinded heads first as recommended too) - the holes on the on the press plate are not big enough, or should have a chamfer to guide the pin being pressed through. really really hard to align. I ended up flipping it around until the pins push past flush then flipped it back and went the rest of the way. -Rivet anvil tool falls out very easily. It happened without even noticing and I ended up pushing my brand new master link pin straight through and had to start over. Summary: It does work. The machining is quality; order extra pins and/or go with the PBR version instead.

    "Instructions"

Posted by Aiden Laursen on 26th Apr 2019

This worked really well and was pretty easy to use. I've never put a chain on before so I was just going off of YouTube videos. The one reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the instructions on how to put it together confused me to no end. I ended up guessing what they meant and it seemed to work out. Overall, I'm not mad that I dropped like $90 on this. Itll save me a ton of money in the end.
