    Better pull

Posted by Brian Carnes on 11th Oct 2023

Don’t let Brian Van fool you. This is a challenge to install, at least it was for me. The hard part is getting the cable out of the holder at the clutch. Of course, Brian makes it look easy! Just be prepared to fiddle around with it for a while. I took a soda and sandwich and final got (I was working on the floor). After install was done the clutch lever pull is more like a grownup’s bike! Good purchase!

Came just in time for my AMP track day and completely changed the way the Ninja 400 clutch felt! Much more responsive and definitely a must have for any Ninja 400 owner!

    Worth every penny

For the cost it is a no brainer. Gives a lot for more clutch feel for under $10 and takes about 15 minutes to install. Would highly recommend.

Ninja 400 clutch cable spring kit

Works great definitely recommend this wether you think you have an issue or not. I bought the bike brand new and to me it didn’t feel like it had an issue. After installing I noticed the difference right away this is definitely a needed up grade.

    Not worth the trouble

Posted by Ken on 6th Apr 2022

This spring honestly isn't worth the trouble. I spent way too much time fiddling with this trying to get the cable adjusted properly. I thought I finally had it setup correctly and all it did was make my clutch slip under hard acceleration. You can't measure the free play.. it's all off "feel" or watching the shift arm .. real easy to smoke your clutch since the tiniest amount of misadjustment causes big problems. Yeah, the spring helps the pull not be so light.. but honestly it's not worth roasting a clutch prematurely for. I took the spring off, readjusted the cable and no more slipping on hard acceleration. This isn't a install and go kinda mod and if it's not right, your clutch is gonna get destroyed. I'm going to be upset if a $10 spring ruined my clutch. I had it slip 3 times before I said to hell with this thing. Norton doesn't provide any instruction either on adjustment with the spring on.. absolutely no help to me. Long story short. Save your money. The clutch pull sucks from factory but better then being stuck with a burned up clutch

Makes the clutch level feel more responsive.

If you like the light clutch do not add this spring. This spring makes the lever harder to squeeze. But makes it feel a little more aggressive.
