The new Pirelli DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA SP is the ultimate expression of Pirelli technology, its racing soul approved for road use. In fact, the DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA SP is the third generation of Pirelli’s highly popular race replica tire featuring tread design, profile and structure that are nearly identical to those of the racing tires which are used in those competitions that, according to regulations, require the use of grooved and not slick tires.
The new DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA SP has been developed through Pirelli participation as the Sole Tire Supplier for all classes in the FIM World Superbike Championship.
The DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA SP has a new racing profile. More specifically, this is the same profile Pirelli uses in its FIM World Superbike Championship DIABLO™ SUPERBIKE slick tires, a tire that achieves new levels of maneuverability and grip both on the track and on road.
The 200/60 ZR17 rear tire has been completely redesigned and adopts the same profile used in the slick tires. Compared to the 200/55 ZR17, the new profile is 9 mm wider and its overall diameter is 16 mm greater. Much of this larger diameter is used in the tread area that, thanks to the increase of the cord, allows lean angles never reached before and a greater footprint.
All this improves maneuverability and ensures a wider contact area which, in turn, means increased grip, stability and trajectory precision, not only when leaning into a bend, but also when entering and exiting the bend, i.e. when the rider is still braking or has started accelerating. With this technical solution, the tire achieves a new degree of grip at maximum lean angle and, since it maintains the same radius at the center of the profile, it does so without forfeiting the manageability typical of the 200/55.
The front profile has been enhanced and is now 2 mm wider than that of the previous 120/70 ZR17. It has been perfectly balanced to work in unison with the rear tire, thus guaranteeing excellent handling and good support in the bends. The advantages are the same as those achieved on the rear tire but with the added benefit that, thanks to its wider area of contact, less stress is applied on the compound.
The casing for the new DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA SP has been derived directly from the DIABLO™ SUPERBIKE slick product. The rear tire has a pure radial carcass, the front is also radial but with an angle of the carcass plies optimized for road use. In particular, these insights have been aimed at improving stability at high speeds and on long straight stretches such as on highways.
The front tire is a mono-compound, a solution that allows rapid warm-up and a steadfast grip in any situation. The thicknesses of the compound on the tread band have been optimized in every area from the center to the shoulders using a new high automation Pirelli process that optimizes the amount of material to be applied with utmost precision.
The rear tire is a bi-compound and for the first time ever in a tire approved for road use, Pirelli decided to use a racing blend developed in the FIM World Superbike Championship. Using the Enhanced Patch Technology (EPT) it proved possible to use a very soft compound on the shoulder. By using new polymers for the compound in the DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA SP it was possible to achieve even faster warm-up and an even better grip under all conditions while keeping consistency of performance.
When compared to its predecessor, the DIABLO™ SUPERCORSA SP has a new, optimized eight-step tread pattern, a pattern that repeats eight times over the entire tire surface.

Extremely sticky for the track
Not the best longevity for the road, but on track days few tires can be better than this for longevity and grip.

Tires
Awesome tire. Very good grip in the corners. Looking forward to see how they perform in the upcoming track days.

Best street tire ever, and I'm a 300+lb ex-expert racer
I bought a set of these Pirelli Supercorsa SP V3's 120/70 190/55 from Sportbike Track gear and I am amazed. I ride a 2020 R1 and my previous tires were the Battlax RS11's and Dunlop Q4's in both 190/55 and 200/55 (200/55 sucks, slow heavier turn-in, slightly less traction). These tires can be pushed hard with levels of grip beyond what race tires provided in my last year of expert racing in 2007. I raced the expert class in A-superbike with a body weight of 240lbs. Now I am beyond 350lbs and these tires stick amazing. I don't get as much lean angle as I did when I was 240lbs, but traction is considerably beyond the RS11's and Q4's. I would say in the range of 33% more traction. The tires are predictable and I do not know how much miles I can get out of them (sorry for the review only 500mi into the tires). I have pushed these tires hard at up to 140mph through mountain turns and also at lower speeds. They feel very predictable, they stick best when hot but when only luke warm they do nothing scary and just lightly drift. MaxWrist recommended these tires when I had Q4's on my bike and I doubted him, now I know his secret. I run 30.5 front 29.5 rear PSI to start with and over a few weeks PSI will lower by 2 and tires still stick great. The front tire is very stiff feeling off the wheel and can take a lot of late/trail braking. The rear seems kind of soft but when mounted and riding it doesn't matter. I found at rear 27psi and less I begin to lose a little traction and that might be because of my 350+lb rider weight, for more normal riders the tire might work great at rear 27psi. Threshold on front was around 28-29psi. A 30 front 28-29psi rear would probably be a good starting point for normal weight riders. I cannot compare to the old 2007 race tires I ran when racing and street riding, but I think it is safe to say these tires surpass the traction of my old 2007 generation Dunlop Sportmaxx GP tires which were the best DOT tires available that year. I haven't track ridden these tires and I suspect they would not hold up for more than 1 track day, please consult other reviews for track performance. I can tell you if you use Q4's as a benchmark, the Supercorsa SP V3's surpass them in traction and feel.

PIRELLI DIABLO SUPERCORSA SP V3 HYPERSPORT FRONT TIRES - 120/70ZR17
I ordered this tire to replace a well worn front tire (Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V2) for my bike. I only use the bike for street riding. On my old V2 tires I got over 14k miles out of them. I am hoping this one will last just as long for a normal street riding.
