Replacing the front fork springs with the proper rate for your riding style and weight can make a trememdous difference in the performance of your forks. Replacing the springs if they are too firm or soft is one of the best bang for the buck suspension upgrades available.

A High Performance Spring has a high stiffness to mass ratio. In other words, it is light weight for a particular rate. This requires the finest materials.

And, of course, you want the specific rate you're paying for. Most manufacturers hold rates within +/-5%, this means a spring marked 5.0 kg/mm could be a 4.75 or even 5.25. (A spring marked 5.0 could be the same rate as one marked 5.4!) Race Tech Springs have extremely accurate rates.

Chrome silicon, high stiffness to mass ratio, shot peened, heat treated and pre-set (no sacking). These are the finest springs available, period!

Features:

  • High performance spring
  • Extremely accurate rates
  • Chrome silicon, high stiffness-to-mass ratio, shot-peened, heat-treated and pre-set (no sacking)
  • To convert KG/MM to LBS/IN. multiply KG/MM by 55.8

As you get faster, you'll need to use more braking power. As you brake harder, your front forks will travel alot further (vertically as they comrpess). I suggest using Racetech's "Spring Rate Search" calculator to discover your recommended front and rear suspension suggestions (https://racetech.com/VehicleSearch). My 07 ZX6R stock front fork springs is .87KG/MM, so i ordered a set at .90KG/MM and am loving it. For street riding, since this is a stiffer spring, the suspension will reflect a stiffer feeling. Not too bad really, but very noticeable on track in a positive way. Dialed in suspension (to your height/weight/riding style) and good tires should be prioritized when it comes to first upgrades/"mods" and is the best initial investment in yourself. Again, i recommend these springs and suggest using the spring rate calc.
