1. Great casual riding pants
These are some of the most comfortable pants I own including my everyday wear. The material feels soft and durable at the same time. As far as protection goes, these are lighter duty and casual pants with a foam padding on the knee and abrasion resistance with Cordura. Still much better to ride in something purpose-driven. I’m 5’7 with a 31 waist size and these are maybe an inch too long for me. But that’s a good thing for a riding pant. I’d love for the reflective stripe to extend a bit further on the inside on the reverse side of the pant leg so that when you roll them up a couple of times they still serve the reflective purpose. But this is just nitpicking. Overall I love these for any type of urban riding. My typical commute involves a 10-15 minute stretch on a highway going around 80 mph and from what I can tell they don’t let in too much wind. Just enough protection for a perfect California day - not too cool and not too hot. If you’re in the city and not going super fast then you can probably wear them into late fall on the East Coast.
I love unboxing RS Taichi gear - always gives me the feeling that I bought something premium, solid, and that will last for many years and through multiple riding seasons. And these pants are no exception.
