Great helmet all around run cool with vents open. Not too loud. Matches measures. What else could you want

I really like the fit and feel of the helmet. I've been using it for about two weeks now and it fits well and wicks moisture nicely. This is my first helmet and my only thought is that venting could be greater. It's still very good, but I'd like to feel some more fresh air over my dome if I wanted, especially when it's 90+ degrees outside.

I am really enjoying this helmet. It’s very light, it fits better than any helmet I have owned, the field of vision is great and changing face shields is really easy. It is a little noisy if you are riding upright (which I don’t do much) so might not be the best choice for casual riding.

I went the LS2 Challenger GP to the Scorpion Exo-R1 and what a difference. Lighter, and way less ambient noise, but I can hear things much more clear. Much less wind noise too. The pump-up system also gives some peace of mind when it comes to safety, if you even need it a lil more snug. I love this helmet!

Replaced my r2000 with this helmet. My only complaint with the r2000 is the lack of space around the ears. The r1 solves that. There's plenty of room for speakers even with my huge ears. The finish seems nice for the price. Overall very happy. I'm a 59cm and the large feels great.

Quality helmet at an affordable price point. For the money you get a lot right out of the box! Don’t overlook this helmet as there is a lot of bang for the buck. Its everything you need and nothing you don’t. Fit and finish A+!

My current helmet is a medium RF-1200, and it's over 6 years old so I'm starting to look into replacements. I've had my eye on this helmet for several months due to published reviews, the price point, and the included dark visor. I really wanted to like this helmet - the size medium I bought was very light, looks good, and the comfort liner is very comfortable (cool to the touch and smooth). The main reason I sent this back was because after having it on for just under 30 minutes (just doing stuff around the house & watching TV) I started to get a headache. After I took the helmet off I realized I had hot spots on my forehead and the top of the back of my head. I guess this is shaped a bit rounder than my RF-1200. Minor nitpicks: getting my glasses on wasn't as easy as I'd like (but once on they sat properly & securely), and the visor latch seemed like it wouldn't be easy to actuate with gloves on. I would absolutely have kept the helmet if the medium fit me as well as my medium RF-1200.

Just raced in it for the first time last weekend. Wind noise was fine, fit was great. Felt just like my old Arai.

Purchased the R1 air to replace my aging soon to be out of date R2000. After about a 3 weeks of riding in the R1 this is what I can tell you about it. First there was a little bit of break in time much like I had with the R2000. My head, intermediate oval, measurement was 58.5 cm which put me between a med and lg. I wore a med in the R2000 and so I ordered a med R1. The initial out of the box fit was tight. I expected that and after about two weeks fit wise the helmet felt great. The quality of the material used inside the helmet is plush and the padding if extremely form fitting and is better at blocking out wind noise than the R2000. I do wear earplugs The chin curtain is a lycra like material that covers better than the curtain on the R2000. The neck roll fits well but still allows for easy on/off of the helmet. Secondly shell shape is awesome! Because I wear a medium that buts me in the sm shell size. Being that this is Scorpions race helmet the aerodynamics are fantastic. Much improved over the R2000 which I thought was pretty good. I ride a naked so wind can be an issue. The R1 is very stable in the upright position and in a tuck it is phenomenal. Because Scorpion has moved shield port higher in the helmet there is no need to crane my neck back to see when I'm in a tuck. You still have great vision while upright and much better peripheral vision than the R2000. Head checks at 80+ mph are a non event. The weight, compared to the R2000 is, makes the R1 uber light. 3.4 pounds on the bathroom scales. Third is the air flow. It is on par if not a little bit improved over the R2000. Both flow a bunch of air which is critical to me as I live in the hot humid south. Lastly is overall fit and finish. The controls for the vents are easy to operate with gloved hands. The action is good. I love that the shield has a center locking tab. I can actually leave it unlocked and get even more airflow and it stays put even at triple digit speeds. The shield in the full lock position is sold and the shield fits tight to the gasket. I ordered the helmet in pearl white and the paint is flawless. The pearl really pops in the sunlight. Shield removal and install is just a easy as it was on the R2000. Very pleased with this helmet overall.
