SAS-TEC armor is CE Level 2 protection. It is made from a polyurethane foam material, without a hard shell or edges, which surpasses the required CE values by 50%. The closed air cells function by means of progressive absorption; the material is soft and flexible in its normal state but a sudden impact will cause the protectors to harden and absorb the impact without transmitting the force to the body.

This Sas-Tec back protector is the finishing touch to complete the protection in your jacket. Be aware that it is about 2 inches thick so use this knowledge in sizing your jacket accordingly.

Nice pad
I can only rate this 5 on initial impression. I hope to never test it. I bought for the Clutch jacket. I was very impressed when I saw it. It is very dense and obviously a perfect fit. I am not sure why it says sold as a pair, only one.
