Shark Race-R Pro Carbon Skin Review and Sizing Info from STG
The Shark Race-R Pro Helmet Weighed 3.35 lbs in a size Medium on our shipping scale.
We feel the Shark Race-R Pro Helmet has an Internmediate Oval Shape, while offering a race fit with on / off effort similar to the Shoei X-12, Shoei X-14, AGV Corsa / Pista and Bell Star Helmets (2016 and up). Using Van as the benchmark he measures 58cm with an Intermediate Oval Head Shape which according to the Shark Size Chart puts him in a medium. In his opinion The size Medium Race-R Pro Helmet delivers a true race fit that runs consistent with the Shoei X-14, Shoei X-12, AGV Corsa / Pista (medium small) and Bell MIPS / Race / Pro Star Helmets in the same size (medium). Compared to the Arai Corsair X the Race-R Pro has a tighter fit and requires more on / off effort, the difference in fit feels like almost 1/2 size. The HJC RPHA 11 Pro Helmet requires a little less on / off effort with a fit that feels just a touch looser than the Shark Race-R Pro.
Van's opinion: This is an excellent premium helmet IMO, performance and comfort are everything I expected them to be. The Race-R Pro Helmet is so quiet it is almost spooky.

Inaccruate sizing, much different than other brands
I ordered the Shark Race-R Pro helmet in XS based on the size chart, but the sizing was inaccurate. My head could fit into the helmet somewhat OK but there was no room for my ears, making trying on the helmet painful (and no practical option to adjust padding or anything to make the helmet fit). I have S and XS helmets in three other brands and all those helmets are a bit too big for me, so I was surprised that Shark was too small. I had to return the helmet, along with the tinted visor that had to be bought separately. Shark is a French company so now I wonder if riders don't have ears in France... If you order a Shark helmet be aware of the inaccurate size chart.

Love it. I’m a size large in all other helmets but tried large it the race-r. Found it too tight and ordered x-large. Much better but still tight and no wiggling when shaking my head. My opinion go one size up.

Shark Race R Pro Carbon
Beautiful helmet. The liner and padding is super soft and plush. Almost double padded thickness from other similarly priced helmets, but makes it a super snug fit. I bought a large and swapped out the cheek pads for 30mm because the 35s were too snug on my face. It’s great you can swap them out, but would like the option before buying because that’s another $50 added to the price for new pads. The carbon weave looks great, and the helmet looks like it’s well built. I feel like the front chin vent feels a little flimsy, not sure if it will stay open at speed, but time will tell. Initial impression of the helmet is stellar. Chin strap magnet seems to work just fine after reading some bad reviews on it, snaps in place firmly.

Absolutely love this helmet, the quality is second to none , so quiet and super light plus it just looks completely bad ass
