Would recommend
Upgraded from an RF 1200 in Medium and this one in the same size fits great. Very comfortable and quite.

Amazing!
I love this helmet! For the last five years I have worn an HJC RHPA 11 Pro Star Wars Boba Fett. I was sad to see it go but it is such a cool helmet but this Shoei is an upgrade! The fit is snug compared to the HJC but the wind noise is were the big difference is. The HJC was really bad but this Shoei is so quiet. The ventilation is nice, it was around 75F today and I had to close two of the three top vents because it too cool. The field of vision is amazing and the pinlock works great! No fogging at all. STG always amazes me, the customer service is second to none and the speed at which they process and ship out an order is just amazing! I ordered this late in the day on a Wednesday and by Friday morning it was on my doorstep! Unreal! Nothing but love for all at STG, keep up the great work! If you want a great helmet I highly recommend this Showi RF-1400! I don't see myself going to to another brand anytime soon.

Great Helmet
Usually wear a large in Shoei helmets ... a size large fits perfectly. In my opinion, this helmet is a nice improvement over the RF1200. Really like the visor lock at the front of the helmet, the vents work great, and very comfortable. Definitely recommend!

Extremely Loud - Very Disappointed
This helmet is extremely loud, to the point that it hurts my ears on rides 45 minutes or longer. In the past I have bought all of my gear at STG and have invested in quality helmets. I needed to retire my absolutely excellent Arai Corsair V that I purchased here many years ago. After much research, I decided to pull the trigger on the Shoei. I took my time to make sure it was a good fit by measuring my head and ensuring it was the same head shape as my Corsair V. Trying it on when it arrived, everything felt as it should, it was nice and snug and looked great. After taking a few rides and going back between my Arai, it is completely apparent that this helmet is MUCH louder. Maybe it’s that my head shape is more compatible with the Arai version of the intermediate oval vs. the Shoei and it is causing this problem. Unfortunately since I’ve now worn and ridden with this helmet, I’m now going to have to sell this as used on Craigslist. Bottom line- this helmet looks great but was extremely loud, to the point that it took the enjoyment out of my ride. Going to go back to Arai and will likely never switch brands again.

Face Shield
BEWARE!! There are no dark or transition shields available for this helmet anywhere. I had to buy a new helmet because my old RF-1200 (which I bought in 2018 from STG) was made in 2015 and so I'm no longer allowed to use it with some of the track day organizers that I ride with. I loved the transitions shield I had for that RF-1220, but it won't fit the RF-1400. If I'd known that no one has any dark or transition shields in stock for this helmet, I would have made another choice. Otherwise, the helmet seems fine. The fit is good. I'm not sure I'm crazy that the lip for lifting the shield is in the middle instead of on the left side. Venting is good. It doesn't seem as quiet as the RF-1200.

The Best Shoei yet
I've been wearing Shoei helmets since the early 80'sand the quality just keeps ascending to levels that impress me every new helmet. This is not just a few minor changes to the RF-1200, this FEELS like a brand new design. I'm not a fan of the of the new center button to get the shield up,, the button could be raised a bit more to feel it a little easier but other than that I absolutely this helmet. The ventilation is great compared to ALL previous Shoei's I've owned, I can honestly tell you I've had to close them on cooler days in Santa Cruz. Build quality is superb! I love this Lid and already dread the day it expires.

Size XL in a shared XXL shell size
Bummed out. Wanted to love this helmet like my RF-1200 but not happening. Neck roll limits my range of motion. XL in a XXL shell size is awkward and heavy. Bought an Arai Corsair-X from the great guys at STG instead. STG always works to exceed your expectations and get you set up right.
