STG 2 Cents The Sidi Mag-1 Boots are one of our TOP PICKS for High-End race and sport motorcycle boots. Sidi manufactures the Mag-1 Boot in their Italian factory, the quality of materials and workmanship are top shelf all the way. One area Sidi really separates themselves from the competition is by designing the boots with most of the exterior parts being replaceable. This is a big benefit if you happen to have a fall in the boots because you can order the parts to repair the boots yourself. With the new Techno 3 Magnetic Closure system the Mag-1 Boots are easy to put on and take off, no zipper or velcro are used. They also offer a level of fit adjustability only exceeded by the Sidi Vortice Boots. End of the day this pair of motorcycle race boots are well worth the price tag. If you prefer a perforated upper for maximum air flow check out the Sidi Mag-1 Air Boots

STG Sizing Note We find the Sidi Mag-1 Boots to run consistent with their size chart for most riders having average to narrow width feet. Riders with width well above average may need to go up one size. As a benchmark for sizing Van is a size 12 US with wide feet and rides in a Size 47 Euro 12.5 US pair of Mag-1 Boots. The 1/2 size over compensates for the extra width needed and the extra length is easily managed with the adjustment system making it a non-issue. In the calf area we find this boot to fit riders with average to athletic claves, if you have massive calves you need to watch our calf fit video in this listing.

Sidi Mag-1 Boots Technical Features:

Sidi Mag-1 Boots Technomicro Material The Sidi Mag-1 Boots are constructed using a material called Technomicro. Technomicro is a composite microfiber that is created using strands that are so fine, each one is less than one thousand the thickness of silk. These end result is a material that acts like natural leather skin, but with more strength, softer texture and lighter weight. Technomicro is also water resistant, highly resistant to abrasion and tearing and is easy to clean and maintain. Technomicro doesn't stain and offers reduced weight, more flexibility and a better feel than leather or other synthetic material boots.
Sidi Mag-1 Boots No Zipper The Sidi Mag-1 Boots have the most advanced closure system available today. The entry and exit on this motorcycle boot does not use a zipper and there is no velcro!
Sidi Mag-1 Boots Micrometric Techno-3 For the Mag-1 Boot Sidi developed an all new Micrometric Tecno-3 magnetic closure mechanism totally eliminates the need for a zipper or velcro. It is easy and quick to use as well as being highly adjustable and light in weight. The TECNO-3 Magnetic closures close the boot with an extremely resistant steel wire, that is hooked to the clip with the aid of a magnet. All parts are of course replaceable.
Sidi Mag-1 Boots Internal Support System The polyurethane rear upper is assembled to the boot with two screws: one on the outside under the TECNO-3 Magnetic mechanism, the other on the inside which holds the micrometric adjuster strap. The screws support and block the internal support system which is made with carbon fiber beams, making up the frame of the boot. This system allows excellent flex movement front-to-back while being firm side-to-side. The Tecno-3 Magnetic mechanism and the micrometric memory strap adjust the leg circumference to fdial in fit at the calf.
Sidi Mag-1 Boots TPU Bands Arch and Achilles areas are covered with Sidi's exclusive elastic textile and injection molded polyurethane comfort panels. The arch area utilizes two TPU bands next to the TECNO-3 Magnetic closures, for a maximum support and wrap of the arches.
Sidi Mag-1 Boots Toe Sliders The replaceable toe slider is made in nylon reinforced with fiberglass. It is fitted with a new air intake and an innovative alloy insert.
Sidi Mag-1 Boots Heel Cup Asymmetric and shaped shock absorbing heel cup, smooth and flat inside, for more adherence with the bike, with shock absorbing system in the back and outside. The shell and the shock absorbing system are replaceable through a screw and an interlocking system.
Sidi Mag-1 Boots CE Approved The "CE" marking means that the product meets the basic health and safety requirements of European Directive 89/686/EEC.

    Significant upgrade over Vertigo

Posted by Kanon on 1st Feb 2017

The Mag-1's are a massive upgrade over the Sidi Vertigo boots, and I thought those were the cat's meow. The Mag-1's are not only lighter and more comfortable overall, but the closure system is foolproof and adjustable. Best feature? No zippers! (It was the zipper that finally gave out on my old Vertigos.) The Mag-1's also have a lower profile than the Vertigos, and the vents move more air than the older model. Overall, I'm quite pleased.

Great light weight boots with good protection

Posted by Unknown on 31st Jan 2017

The boots withstood a nice and long low side at the track. They came out fairly unscathed. I ended up ordering the replacement parts and they are back to their original shape (with some minor beauty scuffs).

    Sidi Mag-1 Boots

Posted by Marc on 31st Jan 2017

After researching the reviews from you site and others on Sidi Mag1 boots I decided to purchase it to replace an older set of Sidi race boots that I had. I was skeptical of the boots because of the wire cam system the Mag1 has versus the older zipper system. In use these boots have proven to be awkward to use and one of the cams on one boot have loosened in the short time I've owned them. For the high cost of these boots I'm disappointed in its complicated use of the cam system and the fact one of the cams are breaking. The good news is the armor feels well constructed and even though a bit stiff at first they become more comfortable after some use but not as good as previous models. I'd rate the boots a three out of five. I haven't crash tested them and hopefully I won't but they do feel they'd do a good job to protect my feet and lower legs.

    Versatile boots

Posted by Diego on 31st Jan 2017

I wear these boots very regularly when I commute in Houston, Texas. I also wear them at track days, 5 - 6 a year. I've owned these boots nearly one year. They provide plenty of ventilation for the Texas heat. They are very comfortable and fit well. I really like the magnetic ratchet strap system, very easy to adjust for the proper fit. I've never gone down in them. They feel quite protective compared to older boots I've had. The only downside is on the right boot the plastic toe guard broke right after I bought them. A few months ago I ordered a replacement toe guard. It broke within a week. I didn't hit anything or scrap my foot. I think it's a problem with the plastic molding process. The original left toe guard is fine.

Love these boots, they saved my bacon in a big crash. Very little damage to the boots, ordered replacement parts from STG and they are like new again.
