- Kits are available ready to install, or as individual lines for custom applications.
- A generally unrecognized manufacturer's recommendation is that all original rubber hydraulic hoses should be changed every four years to avoid failure. Spiegler brake lines are maintenance free and will provide reliable service for the life of your motorcycle.

Important Note: If it does not say in the product specification ABS, than the line kit is not for an ABS model. All of our line kits are made to US-model specifications. If you have a non US model bike it is your responsibility to insure fitment. Due to the vast number of color combinations each of these line kits are custom made to order and are not returnable or refundable. In the unlikely event of an issue with the brake lines, STG is still here to help you. If your motorcycle has riser clip-ons, or any modifications that change the bar height/brake configuration, modifications such as added length may be required. Please contact our team with any questions or modification requests prior to placing your order.

My experience
I found these much easier to install than the other after market (Galfer). When going from a 2 line direct (not stock) you have to do things different and these made it easy. No issues with the performance so far. I have two 848 street and track version I'll be taking off the Galfers over the winter and getting another set of these.

No bleed valves on the calipers
A few issues with these brake lines for the Ducati 848: 1. The stock Ducati brake calipers have the bleeder plug on the fitting that the brake lines attach with. The Spiegler lines come with fittings that don't have the bleeder feature, so trying to bleed off the calipers to purge air is a pain in the arse; you can't fit a bleeder hose and when loosening/tightening the bolt to bleed moves the fitting clocking all around. 2. The connection at the master cylinder obviously wasn't tested on an actual bike because there is no way of aligning them without an interference with other parts. I got it to work, but they're clamped up against each other and nearby parts. 3. With the dual lines and geometry of the bike there's not a good way of routing the lines without creating a friction point between the coated line and the forks and/or fender. I ended up wrapping electrical tape around the left line where it would eventually rub. The tape has protected the line, but after rebuilding my front forks I notice the surface finish of the upper fork has been rubbed away, going from the machined surface of roughly 250 microinches to a polished 32 microinches, so there's definitely material being removed. I'm sure it wouldn't wear through, but still an annoying design flaw of these lines.
