1. Solid carbon brakes at a good price
Vortex isn't a brake manufacturer, and these are manufactured by another company then branded as "Vortex", but they are great brakes. I removed my discs, thoroughly removed the previous brake pads buildup with a palm sander and fine sandpaper. (They looked new.) Took the remaining residue off with brake cleaner and xxx steel wool, and carefully followed the bed in procedure.
These brakes don't bite like say "EBC's sintered" pads, but once heat is built up in the pads, they stop you NOW!
I quickly found that I was squeezing the brakes much harder than needed, because it is what I need to do with the sintered pads, especially once they got hot. The difference with carbon, is that they only get better with heat!
Forget spending big money on a new master and try these instead!
