If you would like to retain the function of your rear brake light after installing Vortex Rearsets you can do so with this in-line pressure switch. The switch replaces the brake banjo bolt at the rear brake master cylinder, activating the rear brake light using hydraulic pressure when the rear brake is used.

WARNING: Use caution when installing inline pressure switches on motorcycle models where the brake line fittings are on the inside of the master cylinder. The added length of the switch and wire assembly may result in a clearance issue with the swingarm. Always check for clearance over the entire range of suspension movement to ensure that no contact will occur. NEVER modify the rearset or brake system and NEVER use spacers to increase clearance.

Since Vortex Racing rearsets are designed primarily for racing use we cannot guarantee that inline pressure switches can be installed on all models or applications. The application chart below covers most common models.

    RS300 is not for 2017 R6

Posted by Richard Squires on 30th Jun 2019

I order the RS300 90-degree brake pressure switch for my 2017 R6 for the rearsets and the brake lines swap I was doing. Vortex Racing lists this as the correct switch which is dead wrong. The RS300 is a M10 x 1.25 thread pitch. The thread pitch of the banjo bolt for the rear master cylinder is M10 x 1.00 which corresponds to their RS200. I wound up ordering one from Spiegler as they had a M10 x 1.00 with the 90-degree bend which I needed. No harm as I’ll just hold on to this switch for my 2019 R1 when I change the rearsets on her.

    Works Great

Posted by Gerald Skidmore on 28th Apr 2019

I would give it 5 stars if there was an option to have bike specific connectors AND you could get it in different colors, otherwise I was able to take 2 pieces from a connector set that the ends snapped in to and make it fit without cutting up the bike's wiring. I couldn't find any videos on how to install this, but someone had mentioned it in a forum - you remove the bolt-part of the banjo bolt on your rear brake and this threads through that. I bought the Spiegler brake lines from Sport Bike Track Gear in the read and blue and if I could get this in red, it would have matched my brake lines perfectly. The very minor suggestions aside, this works great - I got my rear brake light back, took about 20 minutes including bleeding the rear brake.

    Clever idea

Posted by David Levy on 9th Jun 2018

Well worth the money if you need to keep you rear brake light after installing Vortex (and any other brand) rear sets. Easy to install and works great. Watch for swing arm clearance when installing though. Had to tie my wire back to master cylinder to keep it from sticking out and rubbing on swing arm. Not a big deal.

    Easy install but ..

    Posted by A-K on 4th Dec 2017

-1 star because it should have included 2 female bullet crimp as I didn't have any to complete installation. Had to go to buy some late at night and there's not many places open late at night. NOTE: Have some female bullet crimps available before you start the install. Switch worked as described was installed with Vortex rear set.
