Woodcraft's new NEW WIDE COVERAGE TOE GUARD offers a completely new shape offering better protection than has ever been available for a universal-fit toe guard. Coming at the guard from the side - this new guard has almost DOUBLE THE AREA of protection when compared to most current design. The forward part of this guard has a sloped surface that covers the gap on the outside of the chain better than any standard guard we've ever seen.

Their special glass filled Nylon Guard has exceptional strength and saves weight over aluminum guards. The main guard bolts to a billet aluminum mounting block and is replaceable!

With this new style guard, the only gap between the actual guard and the chain is the clearance needed to avoid the guard contacting the chain. Woodcraft has worked hard to provide protection where previous guards have not. While no guard can prevent injury in every circumstance, the new Woodcraft Wide Coverage Toe Guard provides the most protection available on the market today. As always, this kit comes with a mount kit that allows secure mounting even in thin walled swingarms (that are too thin for tapping threads).

    Woodcraft Toe Guard

Posted by Zach on 14th Jul 2022

The end result of this toe guard is great, however I was not able to perform the installation with the tools provided in the kit without modification. Also, not a huge deal, but I don't like mixing standard and metric fasteners on a motorcycle. When using the provided friction wrench and hex key by hand it was impossible to prevent the well nut from spinning. To complete the install I had to cut a portion of the hex key so I could use it in a cordless drill to get additional torque to properly expand the legs on the well nut. Due to the difficulty of the installation I would not recommend this to a novice mechanic. If you are unsure of your ability I would recommend getting additional well nuts in the separate hardware kit in case the provided well nuts spin inside the swingarm and the legs deform to the point of no longer being usable, as almost happened to me.

The video posted explained how to do the installation with some mishap

Some mechanical capabilities required basic knowledge of hand tools to use. Overall it was a simple process. My greatest fear was drilling into my swing on that had me terrified.

Essential part for my superbikes! Trusted quality part in the event of a crash. Big and sturdy, definitely functional.

I found the toe guard thoughtfully designed, well made and sturdy but the installation was difficult and time consuming. The well nut installation tool doesn't work very well to keep the well nuts form spinning as one tightens them up. The material is too soft and doesn't produce enough bite to prevent the well nut form spinning. I also believe the level of skill require to do the job is beyond the ability of most amateur mechanics.
