The Woodcraft Yamaha YZF-R1 15-19 and up Stator Cover is a simple bolt on install that can prevent serious damage to the engine cases and covers in a tip over. This cover is a great way to help protect your investment whether you ride on the race track or the street.
Woodcraft 2-piece engine covers will give your bike a custom look that will make you stand out in the crowd. All of our covers are 100% CNC machined from 6061 Aluminum billet to give you both great looks and exceptional strength. The patented replaceable stainless steel (or Aluminum) skid plate adds wear resistance in the most vulnerable area and can keep your cover both functional and looking good through multiple crashes. The plate is internally bolted so that you don't have to worry about trying to remove bolts with the heads ground off.
Note: This engine cover comes with a gasket included.

Best Protection
I think Woodcraft makes the best left-side engine case protection available for the 2015 Yamaha R1. Fit and finish are perfect. The stainless steel slider must certainly make the case cover very resistant to damage in a crash. Installation instructions are thorough and stress the importance of using thread lock for reassembly. Yamaha certainly used thread lock during factory assembly. This makes it necessary to use an impact driver to remove the stator and associated hardware from the stock case cover. Use a torque wrench for reassembly.
