The Woodcraft Yamaha YZF-R3 Rearsets are a real upgrade from the stock kit, improving the bike for the street or the race track. We have this kit on our STG R3 and immediately noted improved shifting and feel during the first road test on the street after we installed the kit. This kit allows the rider to keep their stock rear brake light switch and return spring on the bike which is a new feature for Woodcraft. Watch our Install Video on our STG Yamaha YZF-R3 Project bike for more details and helpful installation tipes!
The full rearset kit consists of the mounting plates, footpegs, brake and shift pedals with eccentric toe pegs and all of the needed hardware to install the kit properly, assuming that you have the OEM rearsets on the machine. (See our link to the Installation instructions below). These kits are made from tough, aircraft grade 6061 T6 Aluminum and anodized with a black finish. This kit has eccentric pegs that have 12 positions of adjustment. The eccentric toe pieces give also you 1/2" of adjustability in all directions to help you fine tune your lever position.
Woodcraft has tested these kits to get them in the perfect place for both the street or the track. The range of adjustment 1" to 2" above and 3/4" to 1 1/2" back from the OEM position. They are much stronger than OEM brackets and will give your bike a look that will separate you from the crowd. This kit can be used in either standard or GP shift position with a shift rod change
IMPORTANT NOTE: folding toe pieces are available as an option at an extra cost (see drop down menu).

Mostly good
First off 5/5 stars for ordering process and delivery from STG. 4/5 stars for Yamaha as well as Woodcraft on this install. It wouldn't cost much more for Woodcraft to include a new pivot bolt for the brake and shift lever but you have to reuse the OEM one. Now for my bike, I purchased it new so I know everything should be in good condition. The shift side pivot bolt came out decently with the 6mm allen hole. The brake side one was seized into the stock brake lever assembly and wouldn't even come out with heat and an impact as well as a high quality 6mm allen. In the end it ended up starting to strip so I was forced to order a new pivolt bolt as well as washer for the brake side. The rearsets are good quality but I wouldn't rely on being able to get those bolts out without an extra on hand.

Good
Install was pretty easy- just follow the video. I stripped the head of the first bolt I was removing, so that was a pain- but otherwise just like in the video. I did the GP shift, just because I could. The shift bar they supply was just long enough, but didn't snug as tightly in the video. The sets work fine. They tend to grip my boot a bit more than the stock foot pegs. But that is ok, just a different feel.

Buy these!
Easy installation and robust, these rearsets will take a pounding when you inevitably crash on the track. I have had multiple slips and the only thing I have ever had to replace was the foot pegs, which are designed to snap in half and thereby save you from having to replace the entire rearset. I love how there are also so many choices for you to find a position that is most comfortable to you (I installed mine as far back and up as possible). Soon much better than the OEMs, which are too low and result in grinding them in the curves. I don't know about you, but that surprising jolt to the peg and your foot only hinders confidence in the corners. With these rearsets, problem solved.
